How long does waxing last?
Waxing usually lasts for about 3 to 6 weeks. How long it actually lasts will depend on your personal hair growth, the location of your wax, and the accuracy of the application. The team at The skin Culturist are highly skilled and ensure entirely accurate application so you get the most out of your wax.
Waxing last longer than shaving because when you wax you remove the hair from the follicle, whereas with shaving you only remove it at skin surface level.
The benefits of waxing:
Is waxing better than shaving? Yes, and here are some of the reasons why:
- There is less growth, regrowth is slower so your skin will stay smoother for longer.
- Every time you wax, your hair grows back finer and sparser because the wax tears out the hair from the root, causing the follicle to get weaker over time.
- Your skin is less prone to inflammation. Over time, shaving can lead to chronic skin inflammation due to the friction from the razor
- You avoid the itching and prickliness that comes with shaving.
- You avoid the risk of getting nicks and cuts from the razor.
- There is less chance that you will get ingrown hairs.
- There are lots of different waxes to choose from and some of them are painless.
Does waxing hurt?
Because the hair is being pulled out of from the follicle, instead of being cut off as in shaving, it can hurt, yes. However, we have waxing treatments that are painless. And let’s not forget, everyone has a different pain threshold, so what hurts one person may not be so painful to another. And also keep in mind that you only need to do it every few weeks, instead of every few days (or daily) like shaving.
